The Centaur Gold Tier training Course is designed for competitors looking to move beyond the basics, whether you are progressing from the Silver tier course or already competing at Grade C or higher.
You will refine your stage analysis, tackle advanced challenges, and boost overall performance, learning that real progression comes with dedication and consistence.
Here you will learn to self analyse and gain the perfectionist mindset which is required to work on technique productively.
To Attend This Course
You Will Be Able To Demonstrate:
- A solid understanding of the IPSC rule book and how to apply it in competition.
- The ability to score stages accurately and confidently.
- Knowledge of ammunition behaviour and why it’s critical to your performance.
- A correctly fitted firearm.
- Have mastered basic proficiency in loading techniques.
- An understanding of aiming off during target transitions.
- A foundational grasp of stage planning and strategy.
- Awareness of different shooting positions and start options to suit any course.
Online Theory Session
What You will Cover:
- How to set realistic, achievable goals for your competition journey.
- Sport Psychology. Avoiding burnout.
- Physical preparation. Gaining speed and fitness.
- Match Etiquette. How to carry yourself on and off the course.
- Advanced stage planning — strategies for moving and disappearing targets.
Practical Range Application
What You will Cover:
- Firearm and equipment checks.
- Shooting on the move.
- Working efficiently around barricades and stage furniture.
- Demonstrations of ammunition types at varying distances.
- Developing shot cadence.
- Stagecraft with detailed walkthroughs.
- Different target arrays and building them into your stage strategy.
- Techniques for entering and exiting stage areas.
- Building momentum through a stage.
- Demonstration on ergonomics.
- Mastering obstacles.
Course Details & Pre Requisites
- Maximum 6 Participants per Instructor.
- Online learning presentation.
- One full day dedicated range time.
- Have own dedicated firearm and equipment.
- IPSC Shotgun, .22 Mini rifle or LBP / LBR available.
- Course cost - Area dependant.
- Must have completed silver tier training course, or demonstrate skills.
- Can be a combined weekend with silver tier course. Details available upon request.
